today’s quote
This quote represents a peek into the work I am doing. For example, a similar quote from myself: "Conservative movements have created get tough policies which increase imprisonment and harm offender's children in a multitude of ways. Among these are the aforementioned financial, emotional, educational and health burdens and the risk of intergenerational incarceration. It is interesting that it is conservative movements that advocate keeping the family together to minimize the harmful effects on children."

i've forgotten what silence is
adorable photo of the day #27
cute pic, with a bonus link.
i thought this pic was so adorable given that my cat loved the little ponies, too. for her, though, i think it was more a fascination with chewing on their plastic hair.

time for a quiz
Are You a Yankee or a Rebel?: 70% Dixie. A definitive Southern score!
via j-walk, who stated he had taken the test before and "turned" more southern. when i looked at the test, i realized i had, too, previously taken the test. turns out, i am more southern as well. in november 2005, i scored 58% dixie. i'm wondering if they have changed it somehow.
update: in writing this post, i noticed that the web addresses for the two were different. so i did compare the two tests, and no, it has not been changed. it's just me.

no news is good news
promoting abstinence
perhaps the phrase "True Love Waits" could be interpreted differently than promoting abstinence. in that case, one may agree with Kmart execs. but the description of the pants clearly states:
These athletic pants boldly proclaim just where she stands by pointing out that "True Love Waits" in a large screen print on the front and back of these pants.further, the description calls the slogan a "bold abstinence screen print." someone is lying. and you know this is written across the butt of these pants. that's a nice place to display your abstinence views.
