fml
it's amazing what kinds of things you can find on the internet sometimes. this site makes me think a bit of postsecret. i've just learned of it, but apparently it is 'all the rage.' enter fml. if i tell you that the last two initials stand for 'my life,' i bet you can figure out the first one. from the site:
Fmylife.com is a weird and wonderful addition to the web. It’s a collection of everyday anecdotes and stories likely to happen to anyone and everyone, sent to us exclusively by our users, which we then publish on the site. This is a space where you can let it all out and unwind by sharing the little things that screw with your day, and maybe realize that you are not alone in experiencing day to day crap.
here's a couple of posts from the site:
Today, I received my passport in the mail. They got my birthdate wrong. Then I picked up my birth certificate that I had sent in with the application. Turns out my parents have been celebrating my birthday on the wrong day for 16 years. FML

Today, at a hard rock concert, a bunch of guys accidentally knocked down a port-a-potty while moshing. I was inside that port-a-potty. FML

Today, my boyfriend of two years, who is a fabulous guitarist and singer, told me he wrote me a song. I was so excited. Turns out it was a break up song. FML
this is another timesucker.

keep the change
i just want to say that in the time that i have been with bank of america, i have managed to save $147.12 with their 'keep the change' program. not too bad. i like this program as a way to save without even trying.

i beat a traffic ticket
a while ago i was ticketed for making an illegal u-turn [in my defense, i didn't think it was an illegal u-turn]. turns out the penalties for this are quite hefty. i am glad to report that i just returned from court and the case was dismissed. hooray.

soon i will more lively
the semester is drawing to a close. just two more weeks or so. then maybe i will have more time to surf the net.

the kid's birthday is friday and there are party festivities all weekend. maybe the other page will get some love.

more consequences of a bad economy?
David Kellermann, CFO of Freddie Mac, has committed suicide.

this is sad news.

immigrants and children
as per the chronicle, nearly one in ten Texas children has an undocumented parent, while 73% of the children of illegal immigrants are U.S.-born citizens.

what about when we ship out their parents? something needs to happen.

this reminds me, i watched ron white's 'behavioral problems' last night. to fund the war, he suggests selling off part of the air force base in florida. then we buy mexico, fix it up and flip it. it was hiliarious when he said, flip it. there is much more, he has a grand plan. here's a link to a video of youtube with this rant, but it was funnier on the standup special.

bits
Mel Gibson's divorce could be the most expensive divorce in Hollywood history. half of $1 billion certainly trumps previous celebrity divorce settlements: Michael Jordan -$168 million, Neil Diamond-$150 million, Steven Spielberg -$100 million.

Judge Mathis is getting a video game.

beautiful photographs taken in graveyards. i like cemetaries.

How to make a gift box from two dollar bills. i didn't try it myself.

bedtime stories
a joke for you: What is the difference between girls/woman aged: 8, 18, 28, 38, 48, 58, 68, and 78 ?

At 8 — You take her to bed and tell her a story.
At 18 — You tell her a story and take her to bed.
At 28 — You don’t need to tell her a story to take her to bed.
At 38 — She tells you a story and takes you to bed.
At 48 — She tells you a story to avoid going to bed.
At 58 — You stay in bed to avoid her story.
At 68 — If you take her to bed, that’ll be a story!
At 78 — What story? What bed? Who are you?

What Big Cat Are You?: You Are a Cougar

You have more strength than most people, and with it, the ability to inflict a lot of harm. Your power gives you confidence, and you find leading others to be easy.

You believe that you need to the best, and you are very driven to excel. Most people immediately admire you, but some people feel very envious of your abilities.

hello world
i realized i haven't posted in a while. i've been busy doing homework, data analysis, and writing papers. on the one paper i need to get cracking on, i have not been so busy. more like stressing at my lack of writing. how time consuming that is!

you made it down here?

what? you want a reward?
